NO 17 – PRINTEMPS / SPRING 2001

In Brief

Dear Acting Alumni
NTS Grads: Stand Up and Be Counted!

Dear Acting Alumni

When you were starting out, did you have a mentor? When you arrived in Toronto, or Halifax, or Vancouver, or Winnipeg, or wherever you went after graduation, did you have someone to show you around, give you some tips about the scene and the business? And if you didn’t, wouldn’t that have been nice?

The graduating Acting class 2001 would like to invite former graduates to be mentors, to offer a few words of wisdom, a friendly ear, or just a "Welcome to the business."

If you are interested in being a mentor, please e-mail your name, graduating year and a contact number to Sherry Bie, the Artistic Director of the Acting Program, at sherrybie@ent-nts.qc.ca. Or, if you prefer, please don’t hesitate to give Sherry a call at 514.842.7954, ext. 154.

Thank you!

NTS Grads: Stand Up and Be Counted!

Take in a play or movie, visit the circus, switch on the TV or radio — the odds are good that an NTS grad has contributed to what you see and hear. Grads: whether you finished the School two years ago or twenty, the best way you can help us is by mentioning your alma mater in media interviews and bios. Your individual experiences put a face on the NTS and personalize its contribution to the cultural scene. They show that the School’s influence is local and tangible. And the cumulative presence of NTS alumni across the country and internationally would be impressive if all were recognized. By sharing your success, you give the School the most precious and effective exposure there is. Many of you already do: thank you, and please keep it up. Every mention means a lot.
