Fox Winners
Congratulations to the three NTS grads among this year’s winners of the William and Eva Fox Foundation Fellowships. They are: Fanny Weilbrenner (Interprétation, 2001), who will study singing in Rome with world-renown
singer and teacher Marguerite Lavergne; Geneviève Filion (Interprétation, 1998), who will attend the Institut National d’Audiovisuel in France, where she will refine her vocal skills in the recording studio for radio, documentaries,
and drama; and Christian-Michel Grenier (Interprétation, 2000), who will study musical theatre at the Guildford School of Acting in Surrey, England. Each year the New York based foundation disburses approximately $250,000 in fellowships to
recent graduates of the Juilliard School, the Yale School of Drama, NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and the National Theatre School of Canada. Next year’s deadline is March 1st, 2002. For more information, please contact Gilles Renaud at 514.842.7954, ext. 114 or write

We can’t read every Canadian publication
on a daily basis, but we do want to know when the School or one
of our graduates appears in the country’s newspapers. This
information is important to us, as it helps us with our external
communications and our demands for funding. If you live in a province
other than Quebec and you come across an article that mentions
the NTS, please send us a copy — especially if it’s
about you! Article with coffee-mug stains are acceptable but not
mandatory.

Alumni News
Thanks alumni! We pitched you the idea of starting up an Alumni Association and you responded with a resounding "Yes". We received many of the alumni questionnaire forms we sent out, returned
with plenty of good ideas, suggestions, and offers of assistance. We are now in the midst of compiling all that information and looking into the structures of similar organizations. A big thank you to those who offered to help. We’ll be in touch
